AREN'T MATH AND READING MORE IMPORTANT?

These days, there's a lot of pressure to start kids down a path to educational excellence at a very young age. But, there's very good scientific data showing that children who start learning reading and math a little later (age 6 or 7) ultimately SURPASS early learners. Meanwhile, from birth, your child's brain is biologically primed to learn languages--it's as natural as learning to walk or see. Once children start school, it becomes tougher and tougher for them to become multilingual. In fact, it rarely happens, even with very smart kids.

CAN'T KIDS JUST LEARN LANGUAGES IN SCHOOL?

For children who start learning a new language in high school, less than1% actually become fluent in it. Starting a new language in middle school isn't much better. Some children who enter a quality language immersion program in kindergarten become fluent, but their proficiency is less than children who start very young. Furthermore, how many schools do you know that have trilingual programs??

WHAT IF I'M  A MONOLINGUAL PARENT?

With my program of play-based language learning, it doesn't matter how many languages you as the parent can speak. In some ways, monolingual parents are actually BETTER qualified to raise multilingual children. All you need is just a little information on how to find the affordable resources right in your own neighborhood. I'll direct you to them...and I have nothing to sell but the book itself. It's all you need.

AND IF WE  DON'T LIVE IN A MULTILINGUAL AREA?

I'll bet your community is more multilingual than you ever realized. Whether you live in a megacity or a dot-on-the-map agricultural town, you can find the resources you'll need.

DON'T WE NEED TO BE WEALTHY TO DO THIS?

No problem. It's a misconception that you need to be a jet-setting globetrotter to raise multilingual world citizens. Let me show you a thing or two about the community you live in NOW...no matter how small or out of the way. Keep in mind that some of the poorest countries in the world are also the most multilingual. If they can do it, so can you.

I'M REALLY TOO BUSY. HOW WILL I FIND THE TIME?

The more committed you become to raising trilingual children, the more free time you'll have as a parent. Maybe you're skeptical, so pick up a copy of this book!

IS MY CHILD SMART ENOUGH FOR THREE LANGUAGES?

If you start early, intelligence really has little to do with it. Even kids with speech and learning disorders have this instinctive ability.
